We should avoid gossip at all cost. Why? That little secret we share with the next person almost always grows into an exaggerated lie. And, in the process, a division is created between the gossiper and gossiped. So, we must put away gossip and take on thoughts that are pure and lovely and uplifting. We need to have thoughts that will build others up rather than tearing them down. And, we can do it. It is proven to be an attainable Truth over and over by those who intentionally set their faces like flint to let the Lord have control over their tongue.

However, because we each are in the process of growing, we do have our moments. We do sometimes whisper to another of others flaws, speak of others circumstances in divisive ways, and belittle others ideas. Thankfully, with forgiveness and grace, we can move beyond those moments and focus on speaking and doing the right thing in the present and future.

As we progress, we find that as we set our hearts, souls, mind, and strength intentionally upon the Truth that dwells within us, putting our stake in the ground, we overcome and life begins to change. We find that we choose our words, speak with kindness and patience and respectfully honor God and others.

He is the only power that can steer our tongues in the right direction. So, as our thoughts, words, and actions change the day comes when we hear that there is a good word on the street. There is recognition by others that something is radically different. They can see our path better than we can see it ourselves. And, we wonder at times, is this for real?

Recently, I received a call from a very close friend who asked, “How did you go from the person I met before to the person you are today? Please help me find that. I want it. I can see all that is happening to you. I have so much respect for you and see that you have such a love in your heart. Please tell me. What did you do?” His words moved me to be profoundly grateful to God for every experience that brought me to this moment.

I love sharing how amazing Jesus is and how radically He did change my life when my life was crashing on top of me and I was so desperate for love. I dropped to my knees crying, “I’m yours.” Jesus met me right there in that divine appointment, just as He did with the Samaritan woman in John 4:1-25.

Since that day, the Lord has done many beautiful things, and there have been many were not so wonderful. But the weaving together of the beautiful and the not so wonderful are the ones that formed and shaped me into who I am. His.

Now, the word on the street about me is beyond anything I could ever imagine. Having the opportunity to shed eternal light on people’s lives when there is darkness is a gift that comes through only One life.

Our lives are a gift which requires continuous food to sustain us and create growth. My personal definition of success is, “opening our heart to receive the many possibilities and opportunities offered and acting upon them to bring hope and help to others.

Now there is good word on the street about me. To celebrate in that you can jump over to this page or this one or this one.

What is the good word on the street about you?
