When a home is designed, the architect has to be exact in his measurements and scale when creating the plans. A home is good at being a safe haven, a place of shelter and to share family love. It serves its purpose by doing what it is good at doing. In a similar fashion, we are formed and shaped perfectly for the purpose we are designed to serve.

I love how our heavenly Father’s Word steers us to do what we are good at doing. How many times have we tried to be like, look like or dress like someone else? I’ve done it, you’ve done it. It never works does it? It might for a little while, but eventually it will begin to drag us down.

When we try to be someone else by doing what they do, we short change ourselves and those around us. When we let go to allow our lives and work to come from the natural talents and gifts God has buried in our hearts, we find greater satisfaction and bring joy into other lives. The talents and gifts which God has shaped, formed and equipped us to use are always best. One thing for certain, when we are working in our talents and gifts, we will have an overwhelming sense of joy, our work will multiply and God will fulfill our every need.

Thankfully, because we all do sometimes get off the path, we have an amazing Creator who steers us back to where we need to be. After all, He knows the plans He has for us. He is our perfect architect.

Seek Him with all your heart, trust He knows better than you do, believe that He is who He says He is and can do what He says He can! Be still and know, know that He who is God has plans for you that were established before He knit you together in your mother’s womb. They are not to harm you!
