After being exposed to a situation with a child earlier in the day, my heart overflowed with gushing compassion. Should I call the police? I knew it could sound insane if I told them what I witnessed. And, I reasoned, could they understand what I saw, and even if they did, how long could it be before their arrival to help?

Single again working Moms experience real challenges before they step out the door each morning.
Not only do they have to prepare themselves for work. They have the responsibility to make sure their children are bathed, fed and dressed.
We sat in the floor of my small bedroom thumbing through the pages of an old photo album of my past life. Images that showed smiling faces everywhere. Smiles, all smiles. Everything looked like a beautiful life.
As we turned the pages, I pointed out the people he knows, but would not recognize in their earlier ages. He was so interested in learning about them. And then, it was as if the world stopped for both of us.
